Youth/Family Aquatics

Parent/Child Swim Lessons

This program introduces children to an aquatic environment with the support of their parent. The objective of this class is to help you and your child from a positive and confident feeling about swimming.

Ages: 6 months to 35 months.
Fees: Members $30; Non-members $50

The scheduled session will consist of six (6) thirty-minute lessons on the following dates and times:

Session 1:Wednesdays, April 10-May 15, 6-6:30 p.m.
Session 2:Saturdays, April 13-May 18, 9:15-9:45 a.m.
Session 3:Wednesdays, May 22-June 26, 6-6:30 p.m.
Session 4:Saturdays, May 25-June 29, 9:15-9:45 a.m.
Session 5:Wednesdays, July 10-August 14, 6-6:30 p.m.
Session 6:Saturdays, July 13-August 17, 9:15-9:45 a.m.

SING, SPLASH & LEARN

Splash and learn is a fun program designed for caregivers and children ages 5 and under. Participants will meet in the baby pool and spend time singing and playing games that will ensure children become comfortable in the water and improve developmental skills all while having a great time! Meet at the outdoor baby pool.
Session 2: Mondays, July 8-July 29, 11:00 a.m.,
(Pre-register by July 5).
Fee: $20 members; $30 non members

Progressive Swim Lessons

All Progressive Swim Lessons students will meet the first night as a group to be evaluated and placed in the proper class for their skill level. The evaluation includes swimming a lap in the following techniques: front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke. Class times will be finalized after the evaluation is complete.

Pool admission is free for members; $5 adults, $4 ages 18 and under per person for non-members; $16 per family (up to five) and $4 for any additional family members. Free for ages 2 and younger.

The Paris-Bourbon County YMCA is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable pool experience for all. All children 12 years of age and under must participate in a swimming skills assessment and will be assigned one of three colored bands allowing different depth access in the pools. The assessments are free, will be given by one of the YMCA’s certified lifeguards and children may retest as their swim skills improve.

All flotation devices must be U.S. Coast Guard approved.
