Extended School Services For NTI

We have an engaging program planned for your child/ren this school year. Learning and enrichment will be the core of the program as we navigate students who must do Non-Traditional Instruction the first few weeks of the 2021-2022 school year. We also will be available to provide after school care for children who attend in-person school instruction as well.

Health and Safety
When school closures first occurred in March 2020, our YMCA immediately pivoted our childcare programs to meet the needs of our community. We remained open as a childcare option for those who were deemed essential personnel. We served 80 plus children over the course 10-12 weeks.

We will continue to implement critical health and safety protocol such as increased hand washing and social distancing. Each staff member and child will be required to pass a health screening daily before being admitted into the program. Additionally each child (ages 5 and up) and staff member is required to wear a face mask at all times indoors.

Daily School Experience
We will keep our current hours of 7:30-5:00 p.m. If your child will be participating in NTI work we would like for your child to be dropped off by 8:00 a.m. This will allow us to commit the first half of the day to assist the children with whatever assignments they may have. We will implement stretching breaks and quick activities to get students moving and help them stay focused. The second half of the day we will rotate the children in their groups to different enrichment activities i.e. Music, Art, Group Games, and Swimming.

Food Services
A breakfast and PM snack will be provided by the YMCA. We encourage parents to utilize the meal service provided by Paris Independent Schools, delivered daily to the YMCA at no charge for all particpants. If you prefer to pack your child’s lunch, please pack in a lunchbox with ice pack as the YMCA cannot refrigerate meals.

Weekly rate is $120 per participant and must be paid in full prior to each session. Financial Assistance is available to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn and grow at the Y.

Students will have an opportunity to swim at least once a week, during the after-school portion of the day. On swim day we ask students to bring their swimsuit, towel and sunscreen.
Safety First: Students will take a swim test to ensure children’s skill level before their swim days.

Items to bring daily for success:

Laptop/Chromebook + Power Cord

Water Bottle

Face Mask

Wear Close-Toed Shoes

When the virtual learning is done, the YMCA fun begins. Activities include group games, STEM experiments, arts & crafts and more!
Through these activities the YMCA focuses on the social-emotional growth of your child. Friendships are made and children are stronger communicators and critical thinkers.

At the YMCA we know each child has many successes each day, and we aim to recognize them. Our positive behavior program is called “Y Bucks”. When your child displays any of the YMCA core values they earn “Y Bucks” which can be redeemed for prizes at the end of each week.
