Women's Self Defense Class

These classes are taught by Master Larry Mattox, a 6th-degree black belt. Master Larry has 40 years of martial arts experience and has been teaching for 39 years. This 6 week class is designed for any female to escape any attack that may happen. It includes hands-on introduction to self-defense, blocks, strikes, kicks, grappling & ground fighting. Self-defense strategies & tactics as well as laws relative to self-defense and use of force. Comfortable training clothes required. This class is encouraged for high school students and adults. Early class registration is required.

Tai Chi

Learn the Lee Tai Chi system from martial arts Master, Larry Mattox. Tai Chi consists of linked, slow movements coordinated with special breathing techniques to improve stress management, balance, flexibility, strength and coordination. Improve your overall wellness in spirit, mind and body.

Time/Dates: Session 1: Saturdays, August 10-November 2; 11:30 a.m.

Fee: $100 members; $125 non-members.

Session 2: Saturdays, November 9-December 20

Fee: $50 members; $65 non-members.

Elf Your Health

Members pick up a punch card from the front desk and earn points towards prizes. There will be activity points for trying new fitness classes , getting an orientation, tagging our social media sites or participating in special holiday themed fitness challenges. Prizes include t-shirts, free months of membership and much more.

Pickle Ball

What is pickle ball? Pickle ball is a cross between tennis and ping pong played on a badminton sized court with a special pickle ball paddle and a slightly smaller whiffle style ball. The lower net and ball lets players of all ages and abilities enjoy the game. Whether you just want to have some fun or want to test your athletic ability, this is the game for you. Come join us in the gym.

Times: 9-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Beginner Pickle Ball

Anyone beginning to play pickle ball or wants to learn about the game are welcome. Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the Y Gymnasium.

Fee: Free members; $5.50 per session non-members.


The class is designed to increase endurance, strength, range of movement and balance to support activities for daily living. A chair is available for seated or standing support. Activities include exercise using hand-held weights, elastic tubing and balls plus learning to stretch and relax.

Time/Dates: 1:15-2:15 p.m., Monday-Wednesday-Friday

Fee: Free to members

Gentle Fitness

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and range of motion. Class will consist of fun, low impact aerobic work, strength training with a variety of equipment and flexibility and balance work.

Time/Dates: 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., Tuesdays & Thursdays;
