The YMCA Child Development Center is a licensed facility for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Our center has a play-based philosophy, which fosters the individual child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our professional staff creates an environment that promotes learning in the areas of art, science, math and literacy. Our center embraces early language development through our music, yoga programs. Preschool children participate in weekly special activities such as swim lessons, library time, gymnastics and music classes. Children also have daily opportunities to express themselves creatively through play in our “centerbased” classrooms. Our Preschool program uses Creative curriculum.

We provide each child with a hot and nutritious breakfast and lunch as well as a healthy afternoon snack each day. Family involvement is a crucial part of each child’s success in our preschool. Therefore, we keep parents informed with monthly parent involvement activities, newsletters and volunteer opportunities.

Please join us for a Holiday meal with the children and their families during lunch on Wednesday, December 7th. We will begin serving from 11:00am-2:00pm. We will have turkey and all of the fixins. We will serve lunch in the gym. If you would like to attend, let the teachers know what time you will be to get your child from the center, then you will walk next door with them and you all can enjoy a nice luncheon together.

All child care programs will run as normal during the Christmas Holiday Break. However, we do know that some children will be off during this time. We will send out a sign up sheet on December 9th so that you can mark which days your children will be present. This will need to be turned back in by December 14th to ensure charges are not posted on students not present.
